Andy Warhol

Andrew Warhol (1928 – 1987) was an American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker. He was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as Pop Art.

Warhol was obsessed by consumerism. Warhol created art from everyday images of consumer goods. Themes in his Ad portfolio include glamour, memories from childhood, celebrities, and even the President of the United States. Pop Art was an experimental form of art. It is ironic to see Ronald Reagan in Van Heusen (Ronald Reagan), 1985 an advertisement for shirts. Irony and humor were integral to Warhol’s work.
