Noyes, Susan

Susan Noyes is a Virginia based artist working in mixed media. She has her MFA from George Mason University. In 2008 she was a semi-finalist for the Trawick Prize. She was included in the 2005 WPA OPTIONS BIENNIAL. Noyes razor blades on canvas works have many qualities — decorative, process oriented, emotionally evocative, geometric, minimalistic, obsessive etc… Noyes explores the essential components of art — surface, texture, pattern, line, color and form. Noyes glues razor blades on canvas in organized geometric patterns. It is a unique and cautious process that produces graphic-like compositions.
