The Art Registry is showing a selection of abstract paintings and one site-specific work by Johnson. Johnson’s surfaces pulsate with line, color and form. His paintings are composed of numerous layers of Acrylic on panel. The layers give way to an elegant reveal of transparency. The works are unabashed about being beautiful. Johnson’s site-specific painting is a non-objective work of Acrylic on Mylar composed of layers of Mylar. Johnson has completed many large-scale commissions for clients such as Phillip Morris and Washington Lee University.
