Derek Haverland Derek Haverland is an artist from Chicago, IL. He has his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. The Art Registry is presenting a selection of glass word sculptures by Haverland. The work explores duality of meaning. The text overlaps creating a physical and interpretive blur. The viewer is forced to focus on one word at a time; yet the viewer can absorb the composition as a whole with its translucency and shadow cast on the surrounding wall. |
