Boyd, Mark Cameron

My visual arts work explores text as a language for painting, by literally using my sentences as the subject. The use of text provokes curiosity in the viewer of my artworks as they pause to read, to decipher, and they become more intimate with the work. To address the viewer as more than a passive bystander engaged in the pleasure of viewing and to move them to an assertive state of interaction is the essential motivation of my current work. -Mark Cameron Boyd
